 Using its dark weathered clapboard exterior and diamond-paneled casement windows, the Buttolph-Williams House integrated 1711 in the original design of New England's Puritan era may be the earliest remaining home in Wethersfield, Connecticut. The House has become the best restoration in the Connecticut Valley of what in their day was a common style of New Britain house in early colonial period.

Wethersfield is found at the northern many navigable place of the Connecticut River. It was the state's first European settlement recognized with a group who called themselves "The Adventurers" from Boston in 1634. The excellent farmland in the lake valley and its proper site on New England's largest navigable water caused the settlement to thrive. In their early times it would have served equally as their house and being an inn that welcomed travelers to eat and sleep here.

Your house is two experiences of darkly weathered riven walnut clapboard siding that's separate, not reduce which was a common structure strategy at the time, with a high overhanging top reinforced by significant hewn oak post and girt construction framing. The little casement windows are leaded and split into stone formed panes which in its time was high priced and must be imported from England.
